We’ve been proudly growing in strength and size as a digital agency over the last six+ years, including hiring brilliant people, taking on challenging projects and creating a robust business model that our clients and team can rely on.
The last few years in particular have been significant for us as we’ve added key roles to the team, structured ourselves for growth and levelled-up our quality to be able to provide WordPress expertise to the UK, Europe and internationally.
A big hello to our Finance Director
Each time we add a new member to our team it’s a great moment, an opportunity for celebration. There are two recent team changes that have been significant in indicating our direction as one of the fastest growing agencies in both Cardiff and Bristol, perhaps cause for a little extra celebration.
In February 2020 we made one of our most significant hires to date, with Margaret Ascroft joining us as Finance Director!
Margaret is dynamic and experienced, a Chartered Accountant who has helped build up several multi-million pound businesses and now joins our Senior Management Team and Board of Directors.
We certainly don’t underestimate the gravity of adding such a valuable role to help lead the Illustrate Digital team and our business forward.
Creating financial strength
We believe it’s important to create a financially strong business with good structure, strategy and processes. This ensures we’re able to serve our clients long into the future. It’s especially relevant in serving the Financial Services and FinTech markets, where our experience continues to allow us to work with brilliant brands, creating useful software and high-converting websites.
I certainly don’t mind sharing that aiming to operate a business with better financial strategy will position us well. It will help us to hire experienced designers and developers, to train the next generation of bright minds and to encourage innovation in user experiences, WordPress and digital technology.
It would be considered unusual for an agency of our size to make this move at this stage, however Margaret is already impacting our business and the clients we exist to serve. This change has been strategic and helps to align and prepare us for the strongest years in our agencies history that lie ahead of us.
Stepping up to the board as UX Director
It’s also a great time for one of our most loyal and longest-serving team members, Melin Edomwonyi. Melin has been on board with us for five of the six years we’ve been running, making her the most experienced team member in how we operate.
More than this, Melin carries the heart, passion and culture of what it means to be part of team Illustrate Digital. Which is why we’re excited to announce that in January she stepped up to join the Board of Directors, to help play a bigger part in shaping our future as an agency.
Starting out as a part-time UX designer, whilst bringing her experience from top agencies and brands in both London and Turkey, Melin progressed to her position as Director of Product Delivery, before transitioning into this new role as UX Director. This core role will play a big part in our future as a premium UX agency, helping to grow the user-focussed and analytical side of the business, whilst meeting the market demand for highly skilled and well considered user experiences.
Gearing up for the future of Illustrate Digital
These two recent moves have been long in the making and signify the start of an exciting strategy for the future.
Running a business, particularly a digital agency, certainly isn’t an easy task. But the journey of building a truly impactful brand is made a whole lot easier with the right people alongside you.
We’re thankful for everyone we get to go on this journey with and hope to continue announcing exciting news just like this as we head into the rest of 2020 and beyond.
