As official sponsors of the Cardiff Devils we’ve enjoyed the highs and lows experienced over the last four seasons at one of Wales’ top sports clubs. After a tremendous effort from the ownership, management and players to grow the club’s influence worldwide, we’re keen to show our support for one of the UK’s best hockey teams. It’s with this spirit that we’re proud to announce a renewal of our sponsorship with the Cardiff Devils.
Already, in this hockey off-season, the team have been making preparations for 2019/2020; having re-signed some key players from last season and brining in some fresh blood to strengthen the ranks, too!
If you were following any of the Cardiff Devils campaign over the last year, you’ll know just how hard the team worked to stay at the top of the league table, as well as playing against some of the best in the world as part of the European Champions Hockey League. Towards the end of the season the league title slipped through our fingers with a devastating finish in second place only on goal difference and with Belfast Giants crowned the winners of the UK Elite Ice Hockey League for the 2018/19 season.
It didn’t end there though. The Cardiff Devils team headed to Nottingham for the Playoffs for an epic battle between their league rivals, Belfast Giants. The Devils walked away from Nottingham victorious, crowned Playoff Champions for 2019!
As a sponsor we were incredibly proud to back the team throughout last season and we can’t wait for yet another season of great hockey.
So what does a renewal of our sponsorship look like practically? It means we’ll retain our TV-facing rink board right behind the goal, where most of our goals are scored as a club. Winner!
We also have advertisements in the event programmes and seats to share with our friends and clients. That also means another annual team night out to watch one of the games and enjoy some burgers.
The sport is becoming much more popular and much stronger in the UK – this new season will be significant in raising the bar for British ice hockey and we can’t wait to share it with fans, clients and partners alike.
